Improv group combats ‘texting and walking’ with NYC stunt

WASHINGTON — To raise awareness about the dangers of walking and texting, an improv group took to the streets of New York City recently and provided “seeing-eye people” for folks whose eyes were stuck on their cellphones.

Calling walking and texting an “epidemic” in the city, the team of 60 participants divided into two groups: Those wearing orange vests with attached leashes, and those texting, walking and holding the leashes.

The “seeing-eye people” kept their eyes up and used the leashes to guide the texting people across roads, through crowds and up subway stairs.

The project got a lot of attention from bystanders. Check out the video below.
