2 shot during Aspen Hill home invasion

WASHINGTON – A man and a 14-year-old girl were shot during a home invasion robbery in Aspen Hill, Md., early Thursday.

Montgomery County police tell WTOP they responded to the home in the 13000 block of Freeland Road about 12:45 a.m.

“The subjects broke in, fled the scene,” says Sgt. Mark Poole.

When police arrived, they found a 55-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the chest and the 14-year-old with a gunshot wound to the ankle. Both suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The two were taken to separate hospitals.

Police say the victims may have known the two suspects, who are described as white men between the ages of 20 and 25. Police say the suspects demanded money from the victims during the incident. They do not have anyone in custody.

A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and/or indictment in the incident.
