Va. attorney general helps rescue trucker

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) – Virginia’s attorney general helped rescue a trucker from her rig after it caught fire in Louisa County.

WWBT-TV in Richmond reports that Ken Cuccinelli was en route from Staunton to Richmond on Interstate 64 on Friday when he and his driver saw a truck hauling a flatbed trailer and smoke coming from the back tires.

The AG’s car pulled up alongside the truck and honked the horn to alert her to problem.

The trucker pulled over and Cuccinelli helped the driver out of the cab. He then assisted her in putting out the fire with an extinguisher.

Cuccinelli and his driver stayed with the driver until emergency crews arrived. The driver told Cuccinelli she had no idea her trailer was on fire.

He didn’t catch the driver’s name.
