Weekly Crime Report: Dec. 24 to Jan. 2

Somebody left a mark on the construction site that used to be the East-West Highway McDonald’s over the Christmas holiday, according to police:

Graffiti was painted outside a construction site in the 4500 block of East West Highway, Bethesda sometime between Monday, 12/24 and Thursday, 12/27.

Crews are building a new office building on the property.

A residential burglary occurred in the 10200 block of Frederick Avenue, Kensington on Monday, 12/24 between noon and 8:00 p.m.  Unforced entry; property taken.

Four thefts from vehicles occurred overnight from Sunday, 12/30 to Monday, 12/31 in this Chevy Chase beat.  All four vehicles were unsecured; they were entered and searched.  Three occurred in the 8600 block of Village Park Place; an iPod was taken from one of the vehicles.  The fourth incident occurred in the 3700 block of Village Park Drive; nothing was reported missing.

An attempted robbery occurred in the 5800 block of Nicholson Lane, Rockville on Tuesday, 1/1 at approximately 5:45 p.m.  The suspects assaulted the victim and unsuccessfully attempted to remove property.
