Gas down 3 cents, still 30 cents higher than last year

WASHINGTON – Has there been any relief at the pump? It depends what kind of gas you use.

According to WTOP’s Pain in the Gas Survey, the price for a regular gallon of gas slid 3 cents in the last week to $3.78. Mid-grade dropped a penny to $4.

However, premium and diesel both went up. Premium went up 1 cent to $4.17 and a gallon of diesel climbed 5 cents to $4.15.

A year ago, WTOP’s survey found the average price of a regular to be 30 cents lower at $3.46 a gallon. Mid-grade was $3.59. Premium was $3.373 and diesel, $3.86.
