Authorities release search warrant for man who threatened shooting

WASHINGTON – Authorities have released the search warrant for the apartment of a Maryland man who they say may have been planning a workplace shooting.

Neil Prescott made threatening comments to his supervisor and had a stockpile of weapons and ammunition in his apartment, according to Maryland police.

The search warrant says Prescott’s supervisor, referred to as the “victim,” contacted him about a job-related matter:

“During that conversation, Prescott stated to the victim multiple times, ‘I am a joker, I’m gonna load my guns and blow everybody up.’ Prescott also stated that he would like to see the supervisor’s brain splatter all over the sidewalk…The victim stated that Prescott owns automatic weapons and that his comments made him fear for his life.”

The warrant says police confirmed Prescott owns more than a dozen guns. When they found Prescott at his apartment in Maryland, the warrant says he “appeared to be groggy and was wearing a t-shirt with the writing ‘Guns don’t kill people, I do.'”
