Kids in D.C. and Alexandria rank among least spoiled

WASHINGTON – Grandma spoils your your little one. Aunt Marie spoils your little one. You spoil your little one.

When it comes to spoiling children, Alexandria and D.C. are toward the bottom of a new list, in terms of spending.

Bundle.com, a data compilation website, ranked 36 metropolitan cities against the national averages to find out where the most money is spent on children.

It’s estimated the typical middle-income family spends roughly $12,000 on child-related expenses during a baby’s first year.

Bundle.com’s list is essentially a list of cities where children are the most spoiled.

Manhattan is ranked No. 1, followed closely by Brooklyn.

At the very bottom are Saint Paul, Minn. and Madison, Wis., 35 and 36 respectively.

D.C. ranked No. 28 while Alexandria came in at No. 29. Both are significantly below the national average.

Nashville, Cincinnati and Chicago took the middle, coming in right at the national average.
