James Cameron makes new CGI video of Titanic sinking

WASHINGTON – A new CGI video released by the National Geographic Channel shows how the Titanic sank almost a century ago on that fateful night in April.

James Cameron and his team put the video together. It’s more detailed and much slower than the simulation included in his 1997 blockbuster movie about the disaster. Cameron narrates the ship’s moves as he shows how he believes Titanic sank to the ocean floor.

The video is part of “Titanic: The Final Word With James Cameron,” which aired on the National Geographic Channel last night as part of their coverage of the 100th anniversary of the Titanic sinking.

National Geographic Museum has opened a Titanic exhibit for those who want to learn more about the ship’s journey and see both artifacts and recreations from the ship.
