Men and women look at resolutions differently

WASHINGTON – Whether it’s losing weight or saving money, if you want to stick to your New Year’s Resolutions, men need to do one thing and women need to do another.

A survey from Leadership IQ finds that women care more about their goals than men, and set goals that are tougher but more rewarding. The survey of 4,690 people finds that men are better at visualizing their goals, and are less likely to procrastinate.

That means if you want to reach your goals, there are some different tips for men and women.

Leadership IQ suggests that women spend more time picturing their goals, give themselves regular deadlines to meet, and push to accomplish one thing each day that helps reach the goals.

The company says men on the other hand need to set more difficult and rewarding goals, to get more emotionally attached to reaching them, and to create some social accountability by having a friend keep them honest.
