2 dead in University Blvd. accident

LANGLEY PARK, Md. – Two young women are dead and another in serious condition after an early morning, single-vehicle accident on University Boulevard.

The accident occurred at 3:09 a.m. in the 600 block of University Boulevard, just west of Piney Branch Road.

University Boulevard was closed in both directions for several hours as police investigated the crash.

Montgomery County Police spokesman Capt. Paul Starks says the women’s vehicle hit a brick wall and embankment after leaving the road.

“The vehicle left the roadway and collided in a resident’s yard,” Starks tells WTOP.

Police identified the two women killed in the accident as Jenice Richards, 22, and Tamara Nicole Johnson, 19, both of Hyattsville.

The woman hospitalized after the accident is identified as Desaleen Rayna James, 18, of Silver Spring.
