Construction on the future Harris Teeter building with 360 residential units is moving along in Bethesda.

Developer StonebridgeCarras on Thursday said it expects a second tower crane to be erected on Saturday. Donohoe, the main construction company on the job, will begin work on the crane early Saturday morning.

Crews have permits for lane closures along Woodmont Avenue on Saturday and Sunday to dismantle a mobile crane that’s been part of the project.

As for construction progress, Donohoe is forming and pouring the second elevated deck, or future P2 Level of the underground parking garage.

Once the second tower crane is up, crews will begin to start building the northern section of the garage and install plumbing, the remaining elevator pits and slab.

Final removal of a ramp into the site will begin soon after that, with full removal completed by the end of August.

The first crane went up on the south end of the site. The second one has been placed on the Woodmont Avenue side, in a central position.

The result will be a 55,000-square-foot Harris Teeter grocery store in Woodmont Triangle, with apartments above.
