City Perch Kitchen & Bar will be built above the iPic Theater set to open in November at 11830 Grand Park Ave.

Federal Realty’s Vanessa Rodriguez said it will be the first example of the new concept from iPic, which has food and dining establishments such as Tanzy, Tanzy Express, Big Daddy’s Brew & Que and Salt attached to its other theaters throughout the country.

City Perch, which promises “fresh, sustainable and shareable” food, will offer a full menu and small plates. The restaurant will be open to all — not just movie-goers. In March, iPic announced it hired longtime Wolfgang Puck pastry chef Sherry Yard to oversee its restaurant operations. Adam Seger, iPic’s mixologist, will be in charge of the drink menu.

The restaurant will have an “infinity terrace,” overlooking the main public space in the first phase of the Pike & Rose project.

Rockville-based Federal Realty is building 430,000 square feet of retail, 1,500 new residential units, 1.1 million square feet of office space and a hotel on the former site of Mid-Pike Plaza between Rockville Pike, Old Georgetown Road and Montrose Parkway.
