D.C.’s City Wildlife cares for injured baby squirrel (Photo)

WASHINGTON — A baby squirrel fell 75 feet from a tree and is recuperating — with an over-sized cast — at D.C.’s City Wildlife.

The baby squirrel landed on a sidewalk and broke her ankle. City Wildlife caretakers are helping her recover and say she should heal quickly, according to a tweet from the organization.

City Wildlife is a nonprofit group founded in D.C. in 2008 to rehabilitate and release urban wild animals. The group operates a Wildlife Rehabilitation Center — the first in the city — and provides public educational programming and advocacy for wild animals.
