Motorcyclists to plant 1,000 trees in South Quay

SUFFOLK, Va. (AP) — A thousand trees will be planted in the South Quay Sandhills Natural Area Preserve by Harley-Davidson riders this weekend.

Sunday’s event will help kick off Harley-Davidson Motor Company’s “Renew the Ride” partnership with The Nature Conservancy. The goal is to preserve the open road and riding environment through tree plantings.

Between 30 and 50 Harley-Davidson riders will bring 1,000 seedlings to South Quay and plant them on Sunday.

The planting is the first of 110,000 trees that will be planted in the area.
