Redskins add cornerback from SD practice squad

ASHBURN, Va. (AP) — The Washington Redskins have signed cornerback Greg Ducre from the San Diego Chargers’ practice squad.

The Redskins on Wednesday also promoted linebacker Jackson Jeffcoat from the practice squad to the active roster.

The team waived cornerback Richard Crawford and safety Akeem Davis.

Ducre was undrafted out of Washington and spent training camp with the Chargers. He was cut at the end of preseason and then signed to their practice squad.

Washington made two other practice squad moves. Linebacker Steve Beauharnais was signed, and tight end Ted Bolser was released.
