Police investigating whether murders are connected

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) — Alexandria police are looking into whether two recent murders, one of them unsolved, could be connected.

WTTG-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1qMSdnq ) that police are investigating any possible connections between an unsolved July murder of a woman inside her home and the recent killing of the deputy director of operations the District of Columbia Department of Corrections, Carolyn Cross.

Twenty-nine-year-old Dawit Seyoum was arrested earlier this week and charged with Cross’s murder. Cross was found bludgeoned, smothered and strangled inside her home.

Now, police are investigating whether Seyoum may be connected to the July murder of 43-year-old Asabech Abayneh, who was found strangled in her bed.
