2 killed in head-on crash in Virginia

CHATHAM, Va. (AP) — Virginia State Police say they are searching for a motorist who fled the scene of an accident that killed two people in Pittsylvania County.

The Danville Register & Bee (http://bit.ly/1stYd6z) reports the head-on accident occurred about 9:30 p.m. Sunday.

State police Sgt. Bob Carpentieri says two people died, while two injured juveniles were taken to Lynchburg General Hospital.

Carpentieri says police are seeking a man who fled on foot. The man was believed to be a driver of one of the vehicles.

The names of those killed weren’t immediately released.
