Gas leak leads to evacuations in Arlington

ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) — Officials say 50 people were evacuated from buildings in Arlington after a major gas leak.

The Washington Post (http://wapo.st/1nfFDal ) reports officials were called Saturday morning to Wilson Boulevard near the Clarendon Metro station. A fire official says six addresses in the area were evacuated as a precaution because of the gas leak. The leak was caused by construction. There were no injuries reported.

Firefighters were able to slow the leak, and Washington Gas workers arrived to shut down the gas and address the problem.
