WASHINGTON — A Virginia man tried to board a flight at Dulles International Airport on Sunday with a live smoke grenade concealed in the lining of his passenger’s bag, authorities say.
Transportation Security Administration found the grenade and confiscated it. The man, from Great Falls, Va., was allowed to continue on his flight to Denver and no charges were filed.
Two days earlier, another passenger was discovered with a stun gun at Dulles and stopped before boarding his flight to Charlotte, North Carolina. The passenger gave TSA officials the stun gun and he was allowed to continue on his flight. No charges were filed.
The TSA reminds travelers that weapons are not permitted on carry-on bags and can be fined up to $11,000 if caught with prohibited items.
