Police seek suspects in series of armed robberies in Northwest

WASHINGTON – The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a number
of similar crimes involving people who were held up at gunpoint on the street.

“We have had a series of robberies in Northwest D.C.” says D.C. Police Officer
Araz Alali.

There have been three such crimes over the course of 10 days in the Cleveland
Park, Cathedral Heights and Georgetown areas.

One robbery occurred on Oct. 31 near Macomb Street and Wisconsin Avenue.

Another happened on Nov. 9 near P and 31st streets. The third also occurred
Nov. 9, near Idaho and Cathedral avenues.

In all three incidents, two suspects approached people from behind and robbed
them at gunpoint. They got away with cash, electronics and other personal
items.

According to police, both suspects are described as black men, 20 to 25 years
old and clean-shaven with a medium complexion.

One suspect is about 6 feet tall, while the other is about 5 feet 10 inches
tall.

“We are investigating and asking everyone to be aware of their surroundings
and to contact 911 immediately if you see any suspicious vehicles or
behavior,” Alali says.
