D.C. police release footage of person running from bus stop shooting

WASHINGTON – D.C. police have released surveillance footage of a person dressed in black running from a shooting at a bus stop in Southeast that put a nearby high school on lockdown.

Police want to identify the person in the footage so they can question the person about the shooting, which sent three people to the hospital Tuesday morning.

Police are calling it an assault and say the shooter intended to kill the victims.

The two 17-year-olds and one 20-year-old were shot just before 9 a.m. in the 3100 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard SE. Ballou High School was locked down for more than an hour while police investigated the shooting.

Anyone who can identify the person is asked to call police at 202-727-9099 or send a text message to the Text Tip Line at 50411.
