WASHINGTON – Car drivers in D.C., listen-up.
The District of Columbia issued a snow emergency starting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, which means cars will get towed if they’re parked on the wrong street.
Under D.C. parking regulations, cars can’t be parked on a snow emergency route during a snow emergency. If they are, the D.C. Department of Public Works (DPW) will tow the vehicle to an impound lot.
DPW will also issue a $250 ticket for violating the snow emergency, $100 fine to tow the car and $20 for an impound fee. If the car isn’t picked up within 48 hours, the impound fee doubles every day thereafter.
