UPPER MARLBORO – A Prince George’s County judge will not sentence former D.C. police officer Jamelle Stallings on counts of fraud and theft.

Stallings was convicted this year of stealing her brother’s identity and taking out thousands in loans.

Judge Sherrie Krauser told the court she will not make any decision until Stallings begins receiving treatment for a gambling addiction.

A new hearing is set for mid-May.

Prosecutors are seeking numerous years behind bars while Stallings’ defense attorneys frame their client as an exceptional family member and friend with a brilliant career in law enforcement who took a wrong turn.
