FBI asks for help in finding D.C. bank robber

WASHINGTON – FBI agents are looking for a man who robbed a bank in Southeast just before 11 a.m. on Wednesday. Investigators are hoping someone recognizes the man, who they consider dangerous.

Investigators say the subject passed the bank teller a note demanding money at the Capitol One Bank branch located at 336 Pennsylvania Avenue, SE. He was armed but did not display his weapon, investigators say. The man took an undisclosed amount of money and left the bank.

The suspect is described as a black man standing around 5-foot-7-inches tall with a medium build. He wore glasses, a black and gray patterned snow hat and a puffy coat.

The FBI’s Violent Crimes Task Force is investigating this bank robbery with the Metropolitan Police Department and requests that anyone with information call the FBI at 202-278-2000 or MPD at 202-727-9099. Anonymous information may be submitted to tips.fbi.gov or to (MPD) by texting 50411.
