Woman sexually assaulted near Metro station

WASHINGTON – A YouTube video released by D.C. police shows a man they say is a person of interest in the armed sexual assault of a woman after following her off of a Metro train last week.

Police say the attack happened near the Deanwood Metro station on Sept. 6 at about 11:15 p.m. The woman was assaulted in the 1300 block of 45th Place NE, approximately two blocks from the Metro station near the Anacostia Freeway.

In the video, a man gets off of the Metro train and follows a woman through the station’s tunnel.

Police describe the person of interest as a black male in his early- to mid-20s. They say he is around 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds. Police say during the offense, he was wearing a white polo shirt with a dark horizontal stripe across the middle and khaki pants.

Police are asking anyone with information to call them at 202-727-9099 or text 50411.

They also included a composite sketch in the video.
