Don’t miss out on D.C. restaurant, beer week deals

WASHINGTON – D.C. restaurant and beer weeks might be winding down, but that doesn’t mean it’s too late to take advantage of the great deals throughout the city.

August is an especially slow time for the region as Congress is in recess and many residents are taking end-of-the-summer vacations. Hoping to lure customers, some restaurants are extending their special prices and menus through the end of the month, says Nycci Nellis, editor of foodie website The List, Are You On It.

Even the bigger establishments like Graffiato and The Oval Room are getting in on extended deals, she says.

“The whole point of restaurant week is: you’re getting a bargain on the menu and your getting an opportunity to experience a restaurant you perhaps would not have gone to before,” Nellis says.

Just don’t get your expectations too high.

“You have to remember at the end of the day that the restaurant is a business and the customer is usually right, but it’s got to be a symbiotic relationship,” she says. “The stars have to align for you and the restaurant for it to be a great experience.”
