WASHINGTON – A newly released 911 call gives a chilling look at the 2010 murder of Angelo Jones in Northeast D.C.
The call was used as evidence last month at the trial of Rickey Pharr. Pharr was convicted of first-degree murder and other charges, and faces a minimum of 35 years in prison.
It takes more than four minutes for the dispatcher to work out where the caller is, as the caller mentions the small street Clay Terrace, 53rd Street NE, and that he is near H.D. Woodson High School.
Even though the caller gave the streets, the address numbers he gave are not actual addresses, which gave the dispatcher problems.
About a minute after the dispatcher figures out the location, you hear six shots.

At trial, prosecutors said Pharr shot Jones after a dice game in the early hours of Oct. 2, 2010. After accusing Jones of being a government informant, prosecutors say Pharr went to get a gun, and shot Jones in the back as he tried to walk away.
Prosecutors say 23-year-old Curtis Patterson was the other man connected to the crime. He pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice and weapons charges on March 13.
