School evacuated after students complain of burning eyes

WASHINGTON – An elementary school in Northeast D.C. was evacuated after eight students and one teacher complained that their eyes were burning, D.C. fire officials say.

They believe an electrical problem at Stuart-Hobson Middle School was the cause of the irritation. Authorities are investigating the incident, and all students have been allowed back into the school.

No one was taken to the hospital.
