Daycare teacher charged with biting baby

WASHINGTON – A daycare teacher at a Goddard School in Prince William County is charged with biting a 13-month-old boy in her care.

Prince William County police say that Theresa Brown bit the boy in the shoulder after the child bit another teacher on Sept. 11. The boy was left with a bite mark on his shoulder.

A witness reported the incident to the school’s management.

But police say the Woodbridge school’s owner Nadia Choudhry failed to report the bite to Child Protective Services as required by state law. And Choudhry told the reporting staff member not to report the incident.

The bite was reported anonymously to CPS the next day, spurring a police investigation, according to police.

On Friday, Brown, 24 of Woodbridge, was charged with assault and battery. Choudhry, 24, of Manassas, was charged with failure to report child abuse or neglect.
