'Mad Men' is back for a final season
and among the viewing parties was one at Bourbon Steak DC in the Four Seasons of Georgetown. Many of the guests wore fashions from the 60's and the restaurant put on a culinary show from the 60's. A big star helps up and coming stars shine
And it happened at DC-CAPital Stars 2012 Gala Talent Competition click here for the winners. Held at the Kennedy Center it is the largest fundraiser of the year for The DC College Access Program (DC-CAP) a privately-funded nonprofit organization dedicated to encouraging and enabling DC public and public charter high school students enroll in and graduate from college.

Making a federal case of it all...
That's what has happened for 20 years at Langley High School in McLean's "Case Day". Students are required to take US Government, AP Government, or AP Comparative Government in their senior year. Case Day allows for what is being learned in the classroom to be utilized and practiced in a realistic Supreme Court mock trial.

The PenFed Foundation is holding a video contest to find a caregiver of a wounded veteran who will be honored as the "hero at home" at its Eighth Annual Night of Heroes Gala this May. And we, the public, will help choose the winner on YouTube. To enter to win, contestants must upload a one- to two-minute video on YouTube Entries will be accepted until April 12th. This year's Hexagon show "I Get No Kick from Campaign" runs thru March 24th at Montgomery College Cultural Arts Center in Silver Spring and it raises money and awareness for Hospice Caring. An all volunteer organization that provides caring, compassionate, practical and high-quality, non-medical support services, without charge, to every Montgomery County adult or child who is facing a life-threatening illness or is grieving the death of a family member or loved one.
