There are hundreds of trombones headed to Nat's Park this Friday afternoon. Inspired by the signature song "76 Trombones" from their current production of Meredith Willson's The Music Man, Arena Stage is aiming to bring together more than 500 trombone players on Friday, June 1, at the Washington Nationals Park to set the world record for largest all-trombone orchestra. Partnering with FAME (The Foundation for the Advancement of Music & Education, Inc.), Arena Stage aims to focus awareness on the musical education needs of children in the greater DC Metro area.

What is that One Goal that the Susan G. Komen Global Race for the Cure is striving for?? The Race is this Saturday, June 2nd. You can still take part and fight breast cancer by late registration (At the Hyatt Regency - Thursday, May 31 and Friday, June 1 only) or by making a donation.

Remembering forever
Thousands turned out to remember the men and women whose names appear on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall. People we were close to and those we never had the privilege to know. The Vietnam Veteran's Memorial Fund is raising money to build The Education Center at The Wall, a living memorial for all veterans of the Vietnam War. The national spokesman for the drive is Vietnam Veteran and Hollywood Star Tom Selleck. Click below to hear about one of his connections to The Wall.

Maestro Larry Goldberg has created a new orchestration of the beloved musical's signature song that's divided into 7 parts for trombone players of varying levels of ability.
