August 31: Apple in D.C.

Apple's D.C. operation isn't exactly flashy - and that's not likely to change after CEO Steve Jobs steps down. According to politico, Tim Cook, who will take over for Jobs tends to stay out of the business spotlight. Tech insiders expect he will engage on Washington policy issues that matter to the company - such as patent reform and tax issues - but probably not in the near term. Policymakers have looked at Apple as a model of innovation and a source of economic growth.
