July 1: NoVA or MD?

Northern Virginia's economy appears to be in a better position than suburban Maryland in general, according to George Mason University economist Stephen Fuller. He says Northern Virginia's Unemployment rate has fallen to 4.3 percent while suburban Maryland's hovers around 5.6 percent, Both are considerably lower than the national average of 8.7 percent. In fact, According to the Connection Newspapers, our region had the lowest unemployment rate of the 15 largest job markets in the country this past year.
