Oh, who are we kidding? TV shows like "Glee" and "American Idol" prove that just about every song ever written is fair game for the cover treatment.
But only the best cover songs can make you forget about the originals.
Gibson Guitars recently compiled a list of the 50 best cover songs of all time, as determined by its Web audience.
No surprise, Jimi Hendrix's blazing rendition of Bob Dylan's "All Along the Watchtower" came out on top.
It's an act of artistic bravery for an artist to take another's work and make it their own.
That may explain the bold step Weezer took this week: remaking Radiohead's breakthrough epic "Paranoid Android" and posting it on YouTube. (And now you can understand the words!)
