"Grumpy Old Men"
While Washington's leaders may not get the laughs that Walter Matthau and Jack Lemon get, they still may be a bunch of "grumpy old men."
"Dumb and Dumber"
One of the most common answers from WTOP listeners: "Dumb and Dumber."
"The Three Stooges"
Is it Larry, Curly and Moe or, as one commenter said, "Congress, Senate and Obama"?
"The NeverEnding Story"
After days of the shutdown, are we headed for a never-ending story?
"Fight Club"
The first rule about fight club is you do not talk about fight club. But with the government shutdown, many are hearing the fighting loud and clear.
"Titanic"
Is the government a sinking ship?
"The Good, the Bad and the Ugly"
"Less of the good," one commenter said on WTOP's Facebook page.
"Idiocracy"
"They made this movie already. It was called 'Idiocracy,'" said one Facebook commenter.
"Dazed and Confused"
Many may see leaders in Washington as "Dazed and Confused."
"The Poseidon Adventure"
"The ship is the government...many people will not find their way out," wrote one person on the WTOP Facebook page.
"Million Dollar Baby"
WTOP Film Critic Jason Fraley
says politicians need to stop being "Million Dollar Babies" and "Do the Right Thing" like they used to "Once Upon a Time in America," before we reach economic "Apocalypse Now," where the president eats lame "Duck Soup," Congress becomes "Unforgiven" and the American "Citizens" raise "Kane" and make all of them "The Departed."
