LINTHICUM, Md. (AP) -- BWI Airport says normal operations have resumed now that the National Weather Service has canceled a tornado warning and a severe line of storms has moved on from the area.
But the airport also says on Twitter that flight delays are expected throughout the evening Thursday, and that passengers should be sure to check for updated flight information.
The airport earlier advised customers and employees to seek shelter, in a restroom or in the lowest level of the terminal, and stay away from windows because of severe weather outside.
The Federal Aviation Administration now says that general arrival and departure delays at the airport are 15 minutes or less.
