BALTIMORE -- A homeschooled 12-year-old has won a Baltimore spelling bee and will go on to the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
WBAL-AM (http://bit.ly/ZMNrF3) reports Abby Pepin made it through 27 rounds to win the 8th Annual Baltimore Spelling Bee on Saturday. She won by correctly spelling "peccadillo." Abby beat 52 other students from Baltimore City and Baltimore County during a competition on the campus of Towson University.
Pepin says she has a lot of studying to do before the national spelling bee, which starts May 28 at a convention center near Washington.
