Baltimore mayor congratulates Ravens, urges fans to celebrate responsibly

WASHINGTON – The Baltimore Ravens have won the Super Bowl, and the mayor of Baltimore was quick to offer her praise.

In a statement from Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, she said that the team had demonstrated “strength, poise and perseverence” in their Super Bowl XLVII win.

“I want to congratulate Steve Bisciotti, Ozzie Newsome, Coach John Harbaugh and the players for bringing another Lombardi Trophy to our great city,” the statement read.

Rawlings-Blake also took the opportunity, alone with Police Commissioner Anthony Batts, to encourage fans to celebrate responsibly.

She said additional police are on patrol in the area. A city celebration is being planned for next week.
