BALTIMORE (AP) - Police in Baltimore say a man is dead after being hit by a police vehicle in route to the scene of a reported shooting.
Police say the vehicle had turned on its lights and sirens after getting a call to respond to a shooting Sunday morning around 1:30 a.m. The vehicle hit a man in the 900 block of East Patapsco Avenue.
Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi identified the man as 41-year-old Leondionas Dias Perez. Guglielmi says Perez was from South America.
Police say Perez was transported to a hospital where he died. An investigation is ongoing.
