The Associated Press originally reported that the snake was a python. Baltimore County Animal Control corrected this information, saying it was actually a rat snake.
TOWSON, Md. - Authorities are trying to determine how a 7-foot-long rat snake ended up along a roadway in Towson over the weekend.
Baltimore County police say they received a call from a resident who said he had seen the snake in the 1300 block of Taylor Avenue on Sunday night. Police say when officers arrived, the snake had moved into a nearby bush.
The snake was removed from the area by animal control officers.
Police say they do not know where the snake came from.
