BALTIMORE - Organizers of the Baltimore Grand Prix say they've landed several new sponsors ahead of the Labor Day weekend racing event.
The organizers on Monday announced Sunoco, Dr Pepper and Giant Food as sponsors. More sponsorships are expected to be announced soon.
This is the second running of the race, which is held in downtown Baltimore.
The Columbia-based financier putting on the race says it's prepared to not make a profit.
The group that put on last year's event lost its city contract after failing to make payments to vendors, the city and the state. Another group that subsequently received a contract dissolved.
