EASTON, Pa. (AP) -- Seth Hinrichs scored 20 points and Tony Johnson scored seven points during a key first-half run as Lafayette defeated Holy Cross 77-54 Wednesday night in the quarterfinal round of the Patriot League tournament.
Johnson, who finished with 19 points, seven rebounds and five assists, followed an offensive rebound with a tip-in to tie the game at 12, then hit a 3-pointer to knot it at 15-all. The trey sparked a 13-0 run that gave Lafayette a commanding 28-15 advantage.
Johnson capped the run with a layup and Lafayette (18-14) led by at least 10 the rest of the way.
Second-seeded Lafayette, winners of six straight, shot 51.9 percent (28-54), compared to 34.6 percent (18 of 52) for Holy Cross (12-18), and improved to 10-0 this season when holding opponents to less than 65 points.
Dave Dudzinski posted 22 points and eight rebounds for seventh-seeded Holy Cross.
