WHAT’S AT STAKE

The Bruins returned to the Top 25 following a win over California last week that snapped a two-game slide. They also stayed in contention for the South Division title, which USC leads with a 4-1 mark. The Buffaloes fell behind the Trojans 28-0 last weekend in a 56-28 loss.

KEY MATCHUP

Colorado receiver Nelson Spruce vs. UCLA secondary. Spruce leads the nation in receptions (71) and touchdowns (11). He set a school record earlier this season with 19 catches in a game. Bruins DB Ishmael Adams has returned two interceptions for TDs this season.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

UCLA: LB Eric Kendricks. His 11 tackles a game rank 13th in the nation. Kendricks also has four tackles for loss and an interception.

COLORADO: FB/TE/DE George Frazier. The redshirt freshman is so versatile this season he’s played three different positions for the Buffaloes. Frazier has played 75 snaps on offense and 82 more on defense. He had a rushing and receiving TD at California.

With a win, Bruins would be 12-4 in true road games under coach Jim Mora. … QB Brett Hundley needs two TD passes to move into a first-place tie on the school’s all-time list with Cade McNown at 68. … UCLA is 25 for 25 inside the red zone, with 18 TDs. … Kendricks has three career defensive scores, which is one away from the school mark held by DB Alterraun Verner (2006-09) and LB Spencer Havner (2001-05) … Former CU RB Rashaan Salaam will be honored during the game on the 20th anniversary of winning the school’s only Heisman Trophy. … QB Sefo Liufau has at least one TD pass in 15 straight games. Rakeem Cato of Marshall has the longest steak with 39 straight. … This will be the Buffaloes’ 100th homecoming game. They’re 61-33-5 all time.
