Eastern Kentucky beats Robert Morris 29-10

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (AP) — Dy’Shawn Mobley ran for 142 yards on 25 carries to help Eastern Kentucky beat Robert Morris 29-10 in a season opener on Thursday night.

Channing Fugate caught a 42-yard touchdown pass from Bennie Coney with 4:16 left in the first quarter. The Colonels dominated the period with 131-yards rushing and held the uncontested lead for the rest of the matchup despite four turnovers and 90 yards in penalties.

Jared McClain ran for one touchdown and finished with 90 yards to help Eastern Kentucky combine for 422 yards on 67 attempts.

Luke Brumbaugh was 28-of-41 for a game-high 222-yards passing in John Banaszak’s debut as head coach for Robert Morris.

Rameses Owens scored the Colonials only touchdown on a 17-yard run with 11:46 left. Owens led Robert Morris with 10 carries for 38 yards as the team compiled only 28 yards on the ground.
