A man of wonderous words and complex actions
Thomas Jefferson created the Declaration of Independence with the words "All men are created equal", but didn't extend that to African Americans. Which is why Monticello and the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC) collaborated on the latest exhibit: "Jefferson and Slavery at Monticello: Paradox of Liberty" in The National Museum of American History-NMAAHC Gallery, 2nd Fl. 14th Street and Constitution Avenue (Mall Entrance) thru Oct 14.
