Arrest made in death at local Popeyes restaurant

UPDATE 10:08 p.n. 9/1/2014: The Anne Arundel County police say they’ve made an arrest in the death of Luzvminda Monreal at the Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen in Brooklyn Park, Maryland.

The police haven’t released any details yet. A news conference is set.

EARLIER: WASHINGTON — Anne Arundel County police officers have identified the dead worker found at the back of a Popeyes restaurant in Brooklyn Park, Maryland.

On Aug. 31, shortly after 8 a.m., police officers went to the Popeyes located on Ritchie Highway.

Once they arrived, officers spoke with the manager who arrived in the morning to open the business. The manager found Luzviminda Monreal, 47, suffering from significant trauma to her body in the stock area.

Monreal died at the scene. She was working at the Popeyes Aug. 30, but it’s unknown how this incident occurred. It’s being investigated as a homicide.
