BROOKLYN PARK, Md. (AP) -- The Transportation Security Administration is investigating after three teenagers were caught with items including ammunition that they allegedly stole from a trailer in Maryland owned by the federal air marshal program.

The Washington Post (http://wapo.st/1h52dmm ) reports TSA says it is looking to see whether its procedures for storing ammunition were followed.

Officials said ammunition is typically stored in a more secure facility but had been put in the trailer in Anne Arundel County after being used in a training exercise.

The teens were driving together when they were stopped Saturday after police say the vehicle was being driven suspiciously.

Police found 70 boxes of ammunition in the car along with other items including bolt cutters, flashlights, latex gloves and numerous auto parts.

All three have been charged with theft.
