Md. student arrested after bringing gun to school

GLEN BURNIE, Md. (AP) -- Anne Arundel County police say a high school student has been charged with weapons violations after he allegedly brought a handgun to school.

Police say shortly after noon on Tuesday, the 15-year-old student at Glen Burnie High School was questioned by school officials after returning to campus. Officers say school administrators searched the youth's book bag and found a loaded.22 caliber handgun containing seven rounds inside.

Police say no other students were involved, and the student with the gun did not display the weapon or threaten anyone with it.

The teenage has been charged as juvenile and will be placed at a youth facility. Police are investigating how he obtained the gun.
