ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- A high school teacher from Anne Arundel County has been charged with exchanging sexually explicit cellphone pictures with one of her students.
Twenty-eight-year-old Erin Thorne of Arnold was charged Tuesday with soliciting child pornography and displaying obscene material to a minor. She faces a maximum 10-year sentence on the child porn charge.
Police say the Anne Arundel County school system got an anonymous tip about a possible sexual relationship between Thorne and a male student. Police say their investigation revealed that Thorne and the student exchanged nude cellphone photos of themselves before the student turned 18.
Thorne has been placed on leave from her job at Broadneck High School in Annapolis. Online court records do not indicate that she has an attorney.
