Passenger killed, driver hurt when car hits tree

PASADENA, Md. - Anne Arundel County police say a woman was killed when the car she was riding in hit a tree in Pasadena.
It happened about 1:15 p.m. Sunday on Fort Smallwood Road. Officers say a car driven by 49-year-old Gloria Ann Guthrie of Baltimore went off the road and hit a tree on the passenger's side.
The Capital of Annapolis ( http://bit.ly/U9nM8M) reports that a passenger, 81-year-old Catherine May Guthrie of Baltimore, was trapped in the car. She was pronounced dead at Shock Trauma. Gloria Ann Guthrie was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital.
The accident is under investigation.
